so many source said DIL 11 millon copies sold, like sony/columbia
from 2006
 http://www.sony.com/SCA/company-news...birthday.shtml
actually, they had written records but DIL record sales so much more.. at least 2-3m physical single sales impossible in 2006.. so, this figures should album sales..

Yeah, that could have been an error on their part. Albums instead of records. Coz even back then DIL record sales was so much more. I truly believe that album has sold way more than whats alleged. We will never know the official numbers until the record label releases it. I have a feeling they might do it with the press release for the next album.

They were probably talking about US digital sales.
Anyway, 9 or 11 million, it's not a big deal. It remains a successful era with two huge crossover hits, a big pop hit, and a big urban hit.

I agree. I remember several years ago, they had DIL worldwide sales frozen at 8mil, while it was still selling in America. I wonder whats gonna happen, when that album crosses the 5mil mark in America.

 North America: 5.2 million
Europe: 2.3 million
Asia: 700,000
Australia/NZ: 240,000
South America: 200,000
 Total: 8,640,000
11 million is very unlikely.

You just made me realize I forgot some sales. "Single Ladies" is now up to 9.7 million while "Telephone" tops 8.7 million, and "Sweet Dreams", 3 million.

Bey tops 120 million sold.

Some of these numbers are outdated. The total is quite similar to Mediatraffic numbers, which are usually underestimated for certain artists. Plus it doesn't cover all the music markets around the world.Anyhow good job with the thread.
