Like giving a warning, closing a thread is a judgment call and some decisions are easier than others. If you feel like we've truly missed something, you're welcome to contact a mod and bring it to their attention.

I've honestly noticed the speed of closing troll/flamebait threads is on average the same for every (female) pop star here. Sometimes they do go on for hours (mostly during the late hours of the morning) and sometimes just minutes/seconds. Of course, stan bias can make minutes feel like hours and vice versa.

It all depends on how obvious the OP is and how fast the thread itself moves into a WP-filled battlefield.

I don't know why you're arguing about warnings when it's a subjective term. Will Retro be more likely to give a free pass to a Gaga stan being douchey? Probably. Will they be more inclined to warn barely-there Gaga shade? Most likely. But, as Katie has stated (multiple times) someone warns based off of their personal view on the topic. If one of the other mods feels that the warning was "pushing it" (Katie, Page 719) they'll intervene.

Don't make yourselves feel important by thinking the mods are out to get certain stanbases and that they give others free bases. Tons of Britney fans have been banned; I have no idea where you got the "Britney shade threads are closed quick but XTINA ones stay open longer!!" argument from because that entirely depends on who's online at the time, pending they're even viewing the board. There was one Beyonce shade fest that stayed open for nearly 3 hours before it was spotted and closed.

Chances are - if you say something warnable, and one mod overlooks the report, another mod will see it. vBulletin software automatically posts all reports as threads in a staff only forum (vB experience) and they can discuss the report. Warnings and Reminders also get their own specific threads too. While the threads may be plentiful, I'm sure some discussion takes place.

I know nobody is attacking or specifically criticizing me, but all I want to say is that I feel I've been trying hard enough to eliminate what stan-based bias I can in my warnings, and I don't feel I'd ever have been that biased anyway because I like pretty much everyone even if Gaga's most recognizably my fave.

I just want everyone to be equally miserable (or happy), nobody should be treated specially and though I know that bias always exists to some extent, I'm honestly trying to eliminate it from my warnings.

As a general note, if I feel as though I'm too personally opinionated when handling a post or thread or that my bias will hurt my judgement, I'll likely allow other moderators to handle the issue instead of myself.

I don't want to sound like an ingrate or anything because I'm still quite satisfied this feature is even back at all, but I'd like to know why we have to wait ten minutes between each search...? Does searching the site put a big strain on its server, or is the current waiting period in place for other reasons (like, for instance, to prevent people from being creepy and stalking other users' posts all the time)? I'd never really thought about it till just a few seconds ago but now I'm rather curious.

As far as I know, it's mostly due to server stress issues.

IIRC, Search actually did hurt the server, so that was the reason it was disabled during a really long time period. Now it's enable again but with that 10 minutes wait in order to not hurt the server with the searching process.
