Not a chance, none of the major pop girls nowadays will be - Katy, Gaga, Rihanna. They are brief icons of the early 21st century and nothing more. They will have no lasting impact on society and will not transcend their celebrity image like the likes of Marilyn or Audrey. They will be quickly forgotten as the new generation of pop starlets emerge.

I can give plenty of instances of celebrities dressing up as Britney still, including Beyoncé. Remember when people said the end part of "WB" that pays homage to "HIAM" was stolen from "RTW(G)" I wonder if they've realized where "RTW(G)" got the outfit yet.

Yes, Britney is sort of a joke in all fields. Beyoncé is a legend.

If you think that Beyonce will be forgotten in a number of years you are wrong. You do not go from being the lead singer of the world's best selling girl-group to a record setting solo star with hit movies, singles, albums, tours, perfumes (basically everything), to marrying a hip-hop legend, to setting twitter records to performing at the iconic Super Bowl to being forgotten.
Please take your hater glasses off and see the light.

She will be forgotten though. Granted, maybe not in a few years but she won't be remembered or adored after her death like the likes of Audrey and Marilyn. She's done very well for herself, I'm not denying that. And she is currently very successful but she will have no lasting impact. She is a very famous celebrity and nothing more, she is not legendary and the same goes for all the major pop girls today, not just Bey.

Britney has tons of iconic moments, Beyonce has only one or two.

Beyoncé is a feminist icon. And since we're living in a society where feminist ideology is making its way to the forefront, Bey is also a cultural icon. She represents a strength and class many women today work to and hope to emulate. If and when people read back, strong women on top, especially black women, like Oprah, Michelle, and Beyoncé will come to represent the ideals that encompassed our time.
Britney doesn't stand for much. She was a popstar, she was huge, she faded. What has she done/influenced outside of her music? People dance to her songs and then what? She's not even a Marilyn Monroe type, because Marilyn at least represented something. She's more of a Deborah Harry/Pamela Anderson type. A once good -looking famous blonde.

Didn't Beyoncé host a special on Britney? What does that make Britney if a "legend," who also opened for her on tour, hosted her special? Didn't Beyoncé even perform at the end of Britney's MTV special award ceremony?

Don't Britney threads usually end in new music?

Yes, because I'm sure people are going to reference that book 100 years from now and discuss Beyoncé's impact on Woman's Equality...

What makes Marilyn or Audrey so different than Beyonce? Beyonce has arguably had 10x more success and influence than either. She has a word in the dictionary, she has lasting impact. Your theory would suggest that in 50 years there is going to be a huge gap in music history, that people will say, "What was popular in the early 2000s?" and everyone will say, "No clue whatsoever." I think most of us can name more than a few big names from the 1950s. It's not as if that time was simply more memorable.

She is a part of the aftermath of the fight for women's rights. She's been very outspoken since the late 90's and been a part of many pro-women campaigns, even starting some herself. She will be discussed. There are college courses on her role as a feminist in the industry.
Just google "Beyoncé feminist". I think you're underestimating her importance.

Of course that's not happening. So they dont' with Britney.
But I'm curious about how history books will look like in the future.
I doubt they will talk about pop girls tbh. Maybe about pop culture in general. More about politics and stuff.

You're always speaking like your word is absolute. The point is, she's in history books NOW. Stop acting like you can see into the future.

You only sound pressed and your opinion doesn't contribute to the discussion.
