Cher Lloyd has called Lorde "a knob" for criticising Selena Gomez.
The rising New Zealand singer-songwriter - whose current single 'Royals' is proving an international hit - previously admitted that she wasn't a fan of Gomez's track 'Come & Get It' because of its suggestive lyrics.
Speaking about Lorde's criticism of Gomez, Lloyd told J-14: "Why does she have to go and do that? She's doing so well - what a knob.
"Why would she do that? She's sitting at number one. I think she's going to eat her words, which she obviously already has, and I think for someone who's gaining so much success so early, she should be considering herself lucky - it takes a lot of work."
Lloyd added: "You know what though? If she said something about me, it'd be a different story. I wouldn't stand for any of that, I'd be straight back on it."
When told that Gomez responded to Lorde by questioning if it is "feminist" to "tear down" a fellow female artist, Lloyd reacted: "Good for her. I probably would have used foul language."
Cher Lloyd is currently promoting her new single 'I Wish' in the US, with the UK release date set for November 10.
