On Google, all they have to do is file a complaint against a website that they have stolen content and Google will take it down. They can also issue cease and desist letters to hosting websites for websites providing leaks. It's all a fun and interesting game.
When a complaint is being evaluated, you'll usually notice Google mention a website has been removed due to a DMCA complaint.
