sky live in charlotte (opening act for taylor swift)
Sky Ferreira’s brand new album ‘Wild at Heart’ was released this past week and right away Ferreira was ready to tour the album. Alone, she said in a interview with a magazine a few weeks back but first it seems as if Taylor Swift fans will get to hear the album first. Sky Ferreira was announced as one of the opening acts, along with Natalie Kills, as the opening acts for the massive world tour that will also promote Taylor Swift’s album ‘All At Once’. There was no surprise the two would tour together or whatever you want to call it since they both share the same label, Tigerlily Recordings. Ferreira will tour with Ferreira for the first week of the All At Once Tour before she’ll tour on her own. The tour dates for Sky Ferreira’s headlining tour have not been announced yet. Ferreira will be performing at the following dates of the All At Once Tour
10/14 LP Field, Nashville
10/15 Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte
10/16 Scott Stadium, Charlottesville
10/17 Heinz Field, Pittsburg
10/18 Lincoln Financial Field, Philly
10/19 Lincoln Financial Field, Philly
10/21 Gillette Stadium, Foxborough
Setlist:
You’re Not The One
Blonde Ambition
The stage was a blinding neon pink at the start before it started flashing as if it was about to blow out. It went from pink to black, back to black to pink before it settled on a blinding pink. Lasers formed a box and Ferreira appeared in a black blouse with a very short and cropped peplum skirt with some Balenciaga high heeled boots that suited Sky perfectly. A catwalk slowly slid out from the middle of the stage as Sky began strutting as a hologram of Paige Elliot walked out on the stage, wearing the same outfit as Ferreira was currently. Sky stopped to do some choreography during Paige’s chorus, the hologram looking so realistic most forgot it was just Ferreira on stage. After Paige’s chorus was over the stage went dark and it was just Ferreira on stage, strutting down a catwalk to flashing lights as shirtless male dancers popped out from either side. She touched all over them, slipping a hand down one of their pants before they all dropped on the their knees in front of her. Lights started flashing again as the circled around her and picked her up where the camera panned above. She touched all over herself as the moved her in a circle. Back on the ground she one last dance routine during the chorus before she finished the performance with a Beyonce like pose, teasing the thong that was under her peplum dress that she lifted.
Prison Break
Catch Me (If You Can)
Wild At Heart
Werewolf
Chasing Rainbows
Dressed To Kill

NATALIA KILLS ALL AT ONCE TOUR --> Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte 10/15
It was an electric night at Charlotte. Natalia opened for Taylor Swift's All at Once Tour alongside Sky Ferreira.
It was an amazing show that saw Natalia sing 7 songs from her new album "Run" dropping tomorrow. Killerz that came out yesterday were definitely satisfied as Natalia made sure to slay every song. Below is a recap.
Sweet Revenge
The performance starts with a little light show. Lights are dancing and the drums are very loud. Natalia then steps on stage and begins to sing the first song of the night "Sweet Revenge". She sways her hips and moves with the microphone in place. After the first chorus, during the beat break, 3 shirtless male dancers come on stage and do a very tribal ritualistic dance with Natalia. The percussion is amazing and we hear very traditional and African sounds as Natalia sings about having sweet revenge on this lover who made her life a wreck. She sings the rest of the song in the same fashion, on the mic and dancing...and ends with her pulling the mic from the holder and "stabbing" the dancer to the right as the lights dim down.
All The Way
The lights begin to flicker on again and Natalia is in a car on stage. We see her in the passenger seat smiling mischeviously. Subtle instruments start to play and we realize that this is a love song. Natalia begins to sing lyrics about how she wants herself and her lover to go all the way. She sits down in the car and is all over the guy for the performance. Kissing him on the cheek, rubbing his chest...she truly can be very ****ty.
Johnny Boy
As All The Way ends, we see 4 guys dressed as police officers come and drag Natalia out of the car. We hear that she has been charged with murder as one of the co-dancers in "Sweet Revenge" apparently sold her out. She begins to yell and shout as they drag her and the throbbing beat of Johnny Boy starts to play. Natalia sings as they cuff her and tries to seduce the cop by grinding on him and talking dirty but it's just not working. The chorus kicks in and when the choir starts the Johnny Boy harmony, Natalia's dress suddenly begins to have stains on it. We see different colours of dirt start to appear on Natalia's white dress and the cops release her out of fear. She sings the remainder of the song being really scary. She's dancing like a demon towards the cops and the audience and you can tell that Charlotte is captivated in this performance. She ends the song with a loud howl and the cops run away as the stage goes dark
Spit Fire
The stage lights up with Natalia on her knees. She seems to be crying and the dirt is now everywhere on her body. A piano starts playing and we see a very vulnerable Natalia Kills. She sings about regret and wishing she never let her tongue and mouth speak words that were as sharp as knives. She's wishing she never spit fire as it has now destroyed her love with her lover in the All The Way performance. Natalia sings this ballad while crying actual tears and we can tell that truly, Natalia Kills is a broken girl. She sings on her knees and at the third verse gets up and moves closer to the crowd where she passionately and viciously sings Spit Fire. Charlotte Killerz are in tears. Natalia goes back to her band and she just sits down on a stool as the lights go out.
Broken
The ballads continue as we see Natalia still looking really sad on the stool as the lights come on. She begins singing a song asking her lover if he could be with somebody that's broken. As Natalia sings, her lover from the All The Way performance appears on stage and the crowd of Charlotte is screaming in joy and crying for Natalia Kills. They are really attached to this performance. Natalia sings the remainder of the song and ends by asking him "Do You??". 5 seconds of silence pass and Charlotte starts chanting YES! YES!!...He nods. Natalia smiles and hugs him and they both leave the stage hand-in-hand.
Untouchable
Natalia is back on the stage all smiles and very clean. The dirt is gone. She stands by the mic and just sings a power anthem about redemption and being unstoppable and untouchable. Fist pumping and shouting and very vibrant speakers make this performance a power house that it is. Natalia finishes with a fist in the sky as Charlotte screams
Black Sky
Finally, Natalia says "I can't say good night without singing my debut single which you guys made debut at no.17..I love you so much". The familiar sounds of Black Sky begin and Charlotte is overwhelmed with emotions. They sing along as Natalia goes into the crowd and hugs and shakes and takes pictures with people before finally saying Good Night

Adele surprised performance on Jay Leno
Adele who was already on Jay Leno Show last week, came back cause the host asked her personally to come and sing again during the show. It was a huge surprise to see the British singer on the stage again this week, but it was a biggest surprise when she brought with her Ms. Dynamite & Rudimental to perform her club track Run Away.
She started very shyly and with style her song acapella, and the beat dropped during the chorus where she asked to the audience to get on their feet and feel the music with her. She did her second verse before Ms Dynamite appeared from the audience and coming down the stairs as she was doing her rapped bridge. At the end of the song Rudimental did their thing by mixing a from a drum & bass/funky sound to a jungle club banging sound. Everyone went wild at that moment and Adele sat down in Jay Leno's desk with Ms. Dynamite.
Jay Leno talked a bit to Adele at the end of the performance and tell the people that My Savoir was out and available everywhere.

Paige Elliot & Sky Ferreira on the Today Show
This morning, Paige Elliot and Sky Ferreira appeared on the Today Show, dressing in similar outfits: Sky appeared with her hair down in luscious waves, sporting a latex black bra and a black, along with black stilettos and small shorts. Paige wore what appeared to be the same latex bra, along with a black fest, black jean shorts with torn black leggings and a pair of combat boots, her hair in its usual cascade of curves and waves. The two seemed both seductive and crude at the same time, also seeming as if they came to hold the entire studio at gunpoint.
The two began their appearances with a duet version of Paige's "Ready for the Weekend", singing the usual version if it together, layering their complementary vocals and bringing out as much fun in the song as they could.
Just after the performance, the two sat down for an interview, where they revealed the music video is due out sometime tomorrow or Thursday, and that, like Paige's "Ready for the Weekend" video, will premiere on E! News, MTV & at Times Square all at once. Finally, Paige confirmed that Sky also has a song on her upcoming album, completing a "collaboration loan" the two jokingly agreed to.
However, through the interview, Sky seemed rather disconnected, a vibe of arrogance and controlling malice radiating off of her. It was revealed to simply be a part of her getting in the mood for their upcoming performance...
And the two girls jumped up onto the stage once again to perform "Blonde Ambition", getting rowdy and almost sexual on the stage as they continued to dance, strut and work around, singing/rapping the song and stripping off various parts of clothing, including Paige ripping Sky's blazer off and Sky tearing Paige's leggings off with her teeth.
After the performance, the audience and regular show cast seemed shocked, yet erupted into applause.
The performance led to speculation online if the two girls were in some sort of relationship, or if it was just part of the song. Online fans and bloggers also praised the girls for their "edgy" performance.

SKY FERREIRA COVERS PLAYBOY
Sky Ferreira is this month’s cover girl of the 2013 November issue of Playboy. Sky Ferreira is an indie pop artist who’s taken over the world with such songs like ‘Teen Queen’ which opened with one of this years biggest openings of six hundred and thirty thousand copies in it’s debut week, shooting the song up the chart placement of number three on the busiest week in Create A Label season three history. With her brand new album out, released under the label, Tigerlily Recordings, Ferreira seems to be on her way to stardom and success. Along with her album ‘Wild At Heart’ (which we be reviewed in the november issue as well), she released blonde ambition, a hot sexy song, of course about sex, with actress and recently turned single Paige Elliot. The song was used in the exclusive video photo shoot of the Playboy spread that was uploaded to Playboy’s YouTube and Sky Ferreira’s official YouTube channel. Read below our interview with Sky Ferreira on cover Playboy, her music, and more:
What was your initial reaction when you received the call from Hugh Hefner saying he wanted you to cover the November issue of Playboy?
I didn’t really believe it when my manager told me that Hugh was on the phone. I was like “Please don’t play like that”. He gave me the phone and it turned out it was actually him. I was kind of star struck by it. I’m already an awkward speaker so you can imagine I was even more of a total embarrassment when I was talking to Hugh Hefner. It was like “Holy ****, I”m going to be on Playboy!”
Did you feel any anxiety or intimidation by posing for Playboy?
I’ve done nude shoots before. I’m a model for ****’s sake. So being nude in front of a camera isn’t nothing out of the usual. But being on a such a huge magazine as Playboy is more than intimidating. I’m going to be on stands across the world for everyone to see. It was a bit nerve wracking but the photographers and people here made me feel more than comfortable about it.
Does it make you uncomfortable knowing that boys and men all over the globe will be seeing you naked?
Not really. Well it’s a little weird but I guess knowing the fact that men enjoying seeing me naked it a nice and flattering feeling.
Why did you agree to do Playboy?
I feel as if Playboy isn’t really dubbed as trashy or ****tish, you know? It’s sexy and glamourous. It’s trashy, a little nasty, but just the right amount of classy. I think it’s one the best decisions I’ve made in my career so far.
Lets talk about your music career. Your debut studio album ‘wild at heart’ came out. Tell us about the album? What was the inspiration behind it?
The album was originally supposed to be about mocking pop culture. We’d recorded about fourteen songs for the album that were sort of fit for that theme. Turns out like six songs of those fourteen got cut. I was going through a tough time love wise so I recorded some very personal and stripped songs. The whole making fun of pop culture thing didn’t really work out and it ended up being a very dynamic record. It’s my personality kind of. Very expressive yet eerie.
Tell us about your second single ‘Blonde Ambition’ with Paige Elliot.
Blonde Ambition was done by Paige, Greg Kurstin, and I. It was actually written mostly by me and Greg. Paige wasn’t intended to be on it at first. But when we were filming on Fast Times we started talking about each other’s music. What she wanted her record to sound like, what she was working. What I wanted for my record, and the track listing and a lot of other stuff. So we decided to book a recording session together where we would listen to each other’s new music. She actually helped me decided the final track list for Wild at Heart. She listened to Blonde Ambition and wanted to sing a verse on it. So she wrote her verse there. There was first verse that was sort mediocre lyrically and she wrote a killer verse for the song.
What was her favorite song off the album?
Blonde Ambition was and I think that’s why she jumped on it. but she really loved Werewolf and Wild At Heart.
Do you have any idea what the third single will be?
Well we’ve released two uptempos back to back. Teen Queen was very egotistical and Blonde Ambition, or should I say Blonde Ambitchion was very sensual and bitchy. So I think I’m going to release one of the ballads. A personal song. I think Wereworlf needs to be released.
We listened to the song and it was ours and Rolling Stone’s favorites. What’s the story behind it?
I wrote Werewolf for my mom. We both went through a lot when I was growing up. It was a really a dark time for us both and I wanted to write a song about that time where there were moments of hope. That’s how Werewolf was written.
Are there plans for a tour in support of Wild At Heart?
We’re planning it right now. After I get off tour with Taylor I think we’ll announce it. I’m really excited about that.
Have you decided what the theme and set up for the tour will be like?
I might have a big production but keep the performances very laid and stripped you know? I think that is what the fans enjoy the most about going to my life shows.
Last question Sky. If there’s any message or any kind of meaning you want people, fans and non fans, to get from ‘Wild At Heart’, what would it be?
This is a question I find really heart to answer. Because with this album I’d thought about this question so much and changed my mind a lot. I would say the message I want people to get from this album is the fact that there are two sides to every person. The side everyone gets to see and the side that hardly anyone gets to see. The personal, insecure side in contrast to the side everyone knows you by.
That was our issue with Indie-pop and November issue cover girl, Sky Ferreira. Her brand new album ‘Wild At Heart’ is out on iTunes and is available in stores now.

Paige Elliot on the Daily Show
This afternoon, Paige Elliot appeared on the Daily Show, wearing a more appropriate outfit of a simple black dress with a matching bolero jacket and her favorite Louboutins than the one she wore this morning during her performance of "Ready for the Weekend" and "Blonde Ambition" with star Sky Ferreira.
Despite the show usually being a late night show, this episode was brought up to the afternoon due to scheduling conflicts with Jon Daily, the host, and Paige found time to fit it in her schedule to perform there since it was available.
As usual with her performances, Paige performed "Ready for the Weekend" in its usual production, however, once "Blonde Ambition" began, it was clear there was a change made to the song as a rock version began to play... Unlike with "Ready for the Weekend", this was more like hard, rock-concert rock, not the soft-rock, radio trash that had been made for "Ready for the Weekend".
Despite her announcement to co-host alongside Jon, she quickly left after the performance, leaving her bolero there with Jon.
