Applause is so good, it keeps growing on me more and more and I even liked it initially. I'm not that keen on some of the other songs, so I haven't decided whether I'll be shelling out for the album or not. I guess I'm leaning towards doing it though, since it seems like she could use the support right now. and also #justiceforapplause which deserves to be slaying

Buying followers is actually a really popular and efficient marketing tactic. Companies do it to make themselves seem more important because when the public thinks you're more important than you are then they will pay more attention to you. The thing is, artists like Beyonce and Gaga are important and thus don't normally need to buy followers. On the contrary, artists like Katy and Rihanna have little to no impact and thus need to spend millions on getting people to think they are more important than they are. It's just how it is.

Why are we acting like she has 2,000 followers? She's still in the top five on nearly every major social network.

Y'all are doing too much on Monster Megamind though Sure, they might be overreacting but (some of) y'all are throwing legit insults at them for being worried about her Twitter followers. I'm pretty sure a lot of us cared about Gaga's follower count when she was #1, so naturally some of us would be concerned when she drops from gaining 40k/day to 2.5k/day.

As someone pointed out, she's not buying followers anymore, so there really isn't a reason to worry about her Twitter followers right now. Remember we're in the ARTPOP thread though, so obviously we're all on the same team here. It's not serious to where you have to drag other people/hit below the belt
