I started with Ocean because I wanted it badly, and I want to add Elegant, Meadow, Savannah, Archipelago, and I'm undecided on the last one.

The beach doesn't have much, but it's worth going to. Use Rock Smash to get the Max Ether(s), the berries, and maybe catch a Binacle.

All you can get with the Old Rod are Luvdiscs, though.
