And Madonna's ugly ass is the biggest opportunist in the industry and that's why her ugly ass has lasted so long. If she cared about Nicki's talent, Nicki would have been asked to perform on a better song with more than six lines. Bye.
#2 Can't Get You Out Of My Head - Kylie Minogue
#3 Lady Marmalade - Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya & Pink
#5 Don't Tell Me - Madonna
#9 Independent Women (Part 1) - Destiny's Child
#32 Ain't It Funny - Jennifer Lopez
I think the argument is that while Applause is successful, it really hasn't done anything to create buzz for her album, like her past lead singles have.
i like you, i see you being more objective in the argument.
luckily gaga still has the second single and maybe promo for the album itself up ahead.

Oh let's talk about madonna when she has nothing to do with the discussion only because Nicole brought up your YT views

Well, the album is still a bit longer than a month away, the second single comes out at the end of the month, and ARTPOP's pre-order totals are still higher than any of her peers'
Applause didn't need to make people want to run and buy ARTPOP. It needed to make people tolerate and enjoy Gaga again, and its succeeded very well at that.
Didn't Madonna perform a song to the biggest Super Bowl crowd of all time and it failed to hit #1, losing out to a song by fun.? Didn't the song she performed sell half of what Applause has already sold? Shouldn't you be the LAST person to talk about promo not correlating with a #1?
You don't see her PERCHED in here trying to act like GMAYL was a hit when everybody knows it was catastrophic, especially considering the massive promo.
Another Born This Way era would destroy her career. Gaga needs to be present, but not overbearing. Her album needs to perform well and steadily without seeming like its EVERYWHERE, or being forced on the public.
And you know none of this is her doing. "Applause" has been shoved down the throats of listeners and record buyers, or at least the label tried to. "Applause" is just not that interesting or good compared to her past lead singles.
Globally Hero and Without you are more remembered than any Madonna song with My All being in the same rank as Like A Prayer. it's not a bad thing when you have a long career.
Locally of course hero and all I want for christmas is moo.
Gaga had a car commercial as well. Also, where is ARTPOP on iTunes after she premiered the cover on literally hundreds of screens in urban areas across the entire globe?
it went from being outside the top 100 to #67 on itunes with no promo single or performance!
