Noone saw her singles doing this well and everyone in that thread predicted the same thing or even less (once again at the time) considering this was before the VMAs, Wrecking Ball and all the media attention she's getting.

The Truth About Love and Unapologetic debuted with similar #'s and look how they turned out, this era with the right singles (drive, adore you) will keep the sales stable and with the upcoming AMA promo and holiday sales she'll easily be platinum by January.
I honestly don't get some of y'all. The same people saying "wow nobody is going to buy her album after the VMAs. nobody will care about Miley outside of the singles." are the same people expecting a freaking 500k+ debut after negative media hype. These are great numbers for Miley, especially considering the previous era she came from.
I thought she was a legend (Legend M?), Queen, the biggest star in the world, the greatest of all, new member of the all time trinity, more relevant than Gaga and Katy combined. I don't know about you, but after all that, you really expect more.
