True. SMS is not good but that doesn't mean it won't be a single.
If anything with two smashes now is the time to release SMS. Did you see her documentary she said herself it was HER favorite song and talked about ideas for the video to Britney.
To me, unless they release it as a summer single this song needs to be released and impact before the novelty wears off.
Songs like 4x4, Drive, FU will have more longevity.

Miley's not releasing SMS. The song sucks and Britney's name on it won't change anything.
It's a good thing.

The song does sunk but why are people acting like they would really put Britney as a feature and NOT release it.Mind you, Larry manages both artist. LOL what kind of failed logic? On top of that, The main artist herself has gone on record to say it's her favorite song and allowed the only btch she would let on her record feature on it. Plus, she discussed video ideas when Britney was in the recording studio...

I think Britney will beat him but I still highly doubt #1. One Direction, Eminem and maybe an XMAS album will always sell more.

On radio but overall no.
You guys overestimate (Eminem, OD, etc.) and underestimate (katy, miley) the wrong people

I mean, we may be in a bad place right now, but enough is enough, ya'll better stop having meltdowns.

LOL.

That's an old failed theory. That was cute back when dance took over and people were wondering why dance artist sold singles and not albums but urban music is in one of the worse places right now. You have Drake, Jay z, jcole selling...R&b artists at their peak (Miguel) are not doing big numbers to match their hits. Why expect Chris to?

I don't think Eminem is competition. She will go against his fifth week and he doesn't have a legit hit this time (Not Afraid was huge and I don't think Berzerk is even platinum yet despite huge promo + had Love The Way You Lie, which was even bigger.) And he's become pretty irrelevant in the media.
I don't really think 1D's second week is competition either. Take Me Home dropped 73% in its second week to 174k and this new album will probably be more front-loaded + suffer a bigger drop. And the only act releasing a Christmas album will be Kelly Clarkson.
|
You are right. I don't think One direction's power grew since the last era and it usually drops over time. I don't see how their last song had longevity in comparison to their prior ones.
Kelly would not be a threat because she is too real and not willing to look the part anymore.
Isn't Mary J blige putting out one too.

I think that those last few songs that they had left to record was a hold out until after seeing WB performance. I doubt there were WB clones on the album but I do think whatever they recorded this month is probably less EDM and more urban. I need my toxic 2.0.

As long as they put that POM reggae sly and robbie remix on that album then I can deal.
Not here for Radar (POM remix)...

Theoretically.
he does well when it comes to beating pop girls. In album sales of course.

you know a joke is old when even that's not funny anymore.

Which is even more reason for them to give toxic 2.0, then everytime 2.0 then breathe on me, then rerelease with Boom boom and end with Shadow power ballad realness.

Good point.

For God's sake, 1D will have a 70%-75% drop second week, they won't even cross 200K.
Chris Brown is on a downwards spiral as well, so he won't be a threat.
Kelly Clarkson's Christmas album comes out THIS month. Y'all really think she's gonna sell 150K+ 6 weeks into her album release? Please. She ain't Michael Buble.

Exactly.

Who's we?
Everyone thought I was crazy when I said that Katy WILL be coming for #1s again instead of doing the "dark"thing and she will try and beat MJ's record again...results...you're welcome.
I didn't underestimate Miley as she was a wildcard and I had a feeling that her doing her sht out of the public was the smartest thing before she came back. I called her song to be a summer smash and I know she's going to dowell.
Again, you all underestimate and overestimate the wrong people.
