I've noticed that there aren't as much people here for Britney as the way they were before with her previous eras, and I think those are the consecuences of "Femme fatale" after the robotic behavior, bad performances, out of shape body, and catchy but uninspired album you just can't expect suddenly and magically everyone to be here for her this time.
Based only from I've seen after "Work bitch" this album will open with a really moderate amount, something between 160K - 180K, and that thanks to December time and her name alone , otherwise numbers could be even worse.
Things could get better if she releases a second solid more conventional single that shows a different side of the album, something like the first single was to show she improved her dancing while the second one would show she improved her vocals with a more emotive vibe, in that case opening sales could be way better something around 250K - 300K like we all want.
The good thing is that right now I'm not stanning for commercial success, I feel good and satisfied with herself as an artist again, love her dancing, looks, she is writing her music , the video rocks and I'm just relaxed enjoying it

This is what you have to keep in mind. It is December, she has shown improvement, WB is not a mainstream type song all they need to do is issue out a mainstream across the board uptempo song a la toxic 2.0 to get things where they need to. I feel like you all don't see how them seeing the tepid results will only make them re-up during promo week. The last thing they need is an album selling less than 200k and not debuting at #1 which is what she is known for on their hands...just like the last they needed was a WB video that didn't show improvement or better dancing. They will give Miley the attention this month and part of next month and then switch back over to Britney in mid November/first week of December.

Next month please!

I was here for that but thinking about it...I think it would be smarter for them to go with toxic 2.0 and when the album is released people will buzz about Everytime 2.0 and wanting it to be the next single and then the buzz, quality and other things will propel it.
This first single was a message.
This 2nd single needs to be an across the board Britney classic up tempo to set up the era.
Then Everytime 2.0 will benefit off of the success of toxic 2.0 much like Everytime did with toxic and will cover another side of the album.
That is the better strategic way to handle it.
People are not going to say...um, I'm not here for WB but she saaaang Perfume now I'm diving in.
No, more like I didn't see it for WB, but Toxic 2.0 is the sht and now she switched it up with Perfume.
That's how ITZ kept getting increases up until the 4th single

Femme Fatale only sold 276k because of the first couple of days. I remember seeing articles showing how much of a drop the sales had by the end of the release week, therefore making the predictions go down and down. I'd say Britney's image (looks and performance-wise) last era damaged her even more than the breakdown. They NEED to do something other than just pop a (amazing) video online and on the worst US TV channel ever in order to show the country she's not that person anymore.
|
You're right about the damage but I just can't see anything below 200k for her studio album. I just can't see them not setting this up to at least achieve that and a #1 album. The #1 singles and platinum plus singles are chancey but those two things for her team are important. It's probably the main thing they will get right.

LOL. Too little promo, too many interviews...the life of an Army member.

EDIT: i agree but in my opinion they should stop promoting Britney like a sex machine, she doesn't feel comfortable doing too much anymore as she said in that radio interview, she needs to grow musically, i hope what she's been saying about the album having midtempos and ballads it's true.
|
That's what people forget. Its december. They still have 3 songs to finish.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of those tracks are added AFTER seeing what the impact WB had. I mean, she made it clear that there aren't going to be 12 WBs on the album

I obviously am under no illusion that Bruno Mars has a bigger fanbase than Britney, but he released his 2nd album with a HUGE lead single and it didn't even sell 190k 1st week. So now think about it.
|
Not a good example. I mean, the same could be said for Rihanna, Kesha blah blah blah.
Bruno is still more of a singles artists and hasn't solidified 3 solid eras to be known as a high album debut. He's an album seller over time.

Now that she's doing features...i'm here for it.
I respected her for not having to put out 8 singles (although she could and they'd actually be hits

) and not having to re-release like 98% of pop and r&b artists and not doing features for the bulk of her career but times are changing.
If anything, this would be the smartest time. From late 2013-late 2015 she is not going to be hardcore in the studio...maybe here and there.
The best route would be to release the standard 4 singles and then re-up with a few more tracks to re-release this time during the BLack friday since it's notorius for extreme discounting.
And release one or two more singles
2013
1st single (Sept -December...I mean November

) Indie WW smash US underperformer

2nd single(November-February) Toxic 2.0 uptempo smash
2014
3rd single (March-June) Everytime 2.0 ballad smash
4th single (June-September) mid tempo hit
re-up
Re-release first single (October-January) Uptempo smash
2015
Re-release last single (February-May) Ballad or midtempo
Here for it. Time for a change.

Yes, I have the feeling this will be a long era .... I know planet hollywood won't want her to head a show for 2 years without material out , she will likely be releasing stuff while she is with this Vegas contract
Or maybe she will release back to back albums, 8th album for year 1 and 9th album for year 2 ?
|
It's funny that when I say it's going to be a long era with the vegas residency and her being more into it...nevermind.
Yeah, that's why I said back in the spring/summer that if she is into it she will probably put out more than her standard 4 single line up. We would have the residency to thank for that. Otherwise, no.

Girl, sit. You are starting to turn into Captain Music's little brother with your shade.
Britney wouldn't approve

What's the point of doing these radio interviews?
She is probably tired of answering the same questions every day

Well, radio stations are very biased. If you give them an interview they will be more prone to play your music throughout an era. They are programmed at first by payola but that's not all.
Also, just because her stans listen to every interview online doesn't mean the GP, her fairweather fans etc. do that.
At this point, it's about GP and fairweathers being swayed. Stans will btch and moan yet spend their last dollar on her album so they are a given.

|
Exactly. Which is why her team probably found the most current top radio stations in the north east, south east, south west, north west regions and planned certain interviews early and then other interviews album release week.

She's being asked the same questions, sis. I'll get bored for telling the same crap all day and doing a Miley promotion while my song is outside of top 10.
Her team is ****ing up with all these controlled interviews. Maybe that's the reason why we all loved the Mario Lopez interview because she handled a tough question on the spot.
Her team really needs to get fired.
And no one cares about radio, the song isn't mainstream. It's not going to be a hit radio song anytime soon.
|
LOL. But it's not just about WB it's about the era. You all can't really think your relentless online requests and texting to play songs is what makes a song a hit. It's called radio programming for a reason. DJs rarely get paid money on their many job...there's other under the table stuff...let me stop.
Continue with your thoughts

People that are working career people need motivation throughout the day.
5 hour energy, that's 2000s
coffee, that's tired, through and delayed.
It's all about work anthems to keep going

LOL...I caught the shade when one of the interviews mentioned Madonna and Beyonce going by one name and had the nerve to say she goes by one name like them as if Madonna and Britney don't sht on Beyonce's propaganda, media manipulated career.
