No, I don't think the second single wil slay the global charts, like I don't think she'll pull a kesha with ARTPOP.
If that happens? She'll be devasted yes, but if she's smart enough she can recover like many did before her (like madonna after the disaster that was erotica or rihanna with rated r).

For me, this would be perfect. It still gives 'Applause' basically a full month to continue shining. Also, it gives us something to look forward to each week up until the album's release.
I mean obviously ARTPOP will probably leak in early November... but still I would love some promo that resembles what I've listed above. Also, I hope she doesn't release 'Aura' to iTunes.. I want the next song off ARTPOP that's available for purchase to be the second single.

I'd also put the album up on stream on iTunes the 4th with promo to the second single, and it'd be perfect.

Sorry... But that's bad. That way album preorders will be dismal. She needs to release second single in last week of October at least
When the album drops, the second single must already have like +20M AI on radio. So 11/04 it's a little too late.
November 4th isn't late at all.. It's actually a good date for it, honestly.. That way it has some airplay, and during album release week the second single is promoted heavily as well. It'd also give Applause some time to grow more, and to start falling before the second single is released.
