It was basically 90 minutes of tension. Nobody got up in my screening.
I was kind of shocked that anyone did; then again, I feel like people are more casual at daytime showings anyways. It was pretty crowded for the middle of the day during the school/work week.
I've always really liked Sandra and appreciated her naturalism/charm in front of the camera, but this was the first time she's really impressed me. It's a great performance.
This is kind of movie that is impossible to ignore. Like... and anyone who has seen it can back me up on this... it's truly a movie that couldn't have been made even 5 years ago. If it had been shot differently, it wouldn't have the gripping effect that it truly has. You're watching a movie filmed in space, for all intents and purposes. See it in 3D, but even more importantly, see it on the biggest screen possible.
There definitely is competition, I still don't think Sandra is the frontrunner...
But it definitely won't be ignored. It'll be nominated for absolutely everything it can be nominated for.
i took the stars from my eyes and then i made a map
and knew that somehow i could find my way back
then i heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
so i stayed in the darkness with you
And it's funny how many people get so riled up at the mere sight of a lukewarm/negative review to a movie like this in the middle of the almost universal acclaim (include me in).
