I've only heard positive things about it. I still haven't watched it. There was a viewing of Titanic when Avatar came out to celebrate Cameron's works and I opted to go watch Titanic by myself over Avatar with friends.

Alfonso Cuaron is the real deal. Cameron, not so much. They're all just mainstream-*****s compared to the incomparable Lars von Trier. Zack Snyder unfortunately isn't getting his fair share of praise, but Guillermo del Toro is responsible for a string of flawless movies that always come first when I think of great movies, eg. Pan's Labyrinth.

The thing about Sandra is always the material she's associated with. But it's great that she took this chance and even better that it paid off. She has limited range though and shouldn't try her hand at big dramatic movies but just try something other than her lame comedies is a great start.

del Toro is a bit to fantasical for me. I would say Quentin Tarantino is much more talented. His sarcastic, twisted humor >

Yes, I've read a couple of them. They trash her acting in 90% of the other movies she stars in tho. The Blind Side was also very unbearable in particular, only god knows why they gave her that Oscar. No competition or whatsoever, I assume.

Yeah, it's a pity del Toro is so genre-specific. If he'd go outta his comfort zone just once, people would've a more welcome reception to his terrific work. Tarantino simply lacks depth. It's apparently "cool" and "the right thing to do" to praise his movies and they ARE great and iconic to a certain extent, but his movies are SO ****ing full of nothingness, there is no other way to say it, honestly.

Sandra is no critical darling but she doesn't get trashed. Right from the start with Speed critics pointed out what a scene-stealer she is. There are a million good actresses like Marion but how many real stars like Sandra are there?

Also while Avatar is overrated (but not bad), Cameron is amazing and what would we do without T2 and Aliens?
