and I just felt like bumping it to say that I'm still in love with this song.
when Katy announced it with the trailers I've already liked it. I was singing that 'oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh' for days when the 'From a Meow to a Roar' trailer was out. And then came that 'Satin Cape' video. 'Cuz I am a champion and you're gonna hear me roarrrrrrrrr' the first time hearing that lyric I was like
and then the whole song leaked on Tumblr. At first I kind of didn't like it because it sounded like Brave a bit (which I've liked a few weeks prior and I didn't want people to say that Katy copied it), but the final chorus (the chimes, her ad libs etc) had me overwhelmed. Then the VMA performance. The key was lowered and I wasn't quite satisfied with it. But I thought it was safe and she could hit all the notes. Then it hit #1 on BBHot100. And then the video. The fact that she's always on point with her visuals is why I love her so much, not like some artists who're lazy and put out tour videos for some fan favourites.
