"I can't at Katy's slayage right now so I have to make up some conspiracy theory which implies Capitol buying her own songs even though they're already outselling my fave's"

You have to admit that the updates defy logic. There's no way the song shot up from #9 to #2 out of the blue, randomly, in the course of an hour (60% increase) while simultaneously experiencing similar increases around the world. Probably a glitch or something since kworb is being weird and it's connected to iTunes.

iTunes has been like this since yesterday, it stops updating and then we see the huge increases.
So last night's WoA and today's DH didn't happen THAT fast.
iTunes is probably working on its servers + this week releases are big (JT's album, Lorde, Katy + tons of others / regular traffic). She's still selling those copies and all these conspiracy theories are just stupid, just some technical difficulties. Not the first, not the last one.
1. A technical glitch
2. Hack by an overzealous Katy stan???
3. iTunes changed it's rules??? (Most likely, I think)
4. Payola by Capitol Records
5. It's real
For this to happen in 8 hours, with a 2 week promotional single...
please don't call me pressed, because if that doesn't look suspicious to you
