Jeff said the Zedd tracks sucked so I'm glad they're not on the album.
Why don't we have updated Pre-orders? I need to see the mess that erupts when Katys aren't as weak as people thought.

Bonnie has no writing credits on her biggest WW hit, Firework or her biggest US hit, E.T.
Not to mention that Katy was the one who gave her a career with the TD era, so she wasn't anywhere on OOTB which included 2 massive WW hits.
In fact. Bonnie has writing credits on only 4 singles. At least you could've tried to not look THAT stupid and pull the Dr. Luke card, but Bonnie's

right?
Bonnie and Katy have a great relationship - they write TOGETHER, as evidenced by countless interviews with both Katy and Bonnie.

Wait, wasn't "Ghost" supposed to be the Bloodshy track?
Anyway, if this is real lemme go pre-order Prism. I live for Max/Luke collabs.

I have no doubt Katy has written most of her songs, but then you have things like Bonnie's interviews where she gives AWFULLY shady responses when asked what it was like writing "Wide Awake" with Katy.

Because Bonnie is an AWFULLY shady lady; she's trying to steal as much credit as she possibly can, but she over exaggerates her influence. Don't forget Katy was writing her music waaaaaaay before Bonnie ever came into the picture, and Bonnie's only COwritten a handful of Katy's large discography.

We don't know do we? Katy has been writing music for YEARS now, she knows the biz and she knows what's current and what's out, her success if proof of that. I wouldn't rule her out as a song writer. I don't see her as most pop stars that go to popular hit producers to score a #1 hit though WAIT, I know she's worked with Luke but girl got TALENT as well. Like I stated before "Roar" was Luke's first #1 in 2 years.
It saddens me that ppl rule her out when it's clear that she has a lot of input in what she does, but hey that's what makes her more popular...I hope to see one day a recording of her writing a HIT song one day.

!!!
People shouldn't rule her out esp. when she's written for other established acts like Selena, Miley, and Kelly. And Bonnie has given very detailed interviews about the writing process and just how much input Katy has in her work. And there are videos/pictures of the two together working on music. Not people trying to lump Katy in with Rih/Brit when they probably have never even met the people who wrote their music.

She's really a genius, she was by the mixing board and telling the guy what to take in and take out. She's really hands-on with her music, she knows music.
|
Also, Katy isn't a label puppet. She chose the rappers for their features based on research, it's not like the label flew them in and dropped them into the studio together.
I would say, however, I'm pretty sure Katy is more lyrical/conceptual and her producers help her with melody and hook. Katy's most involved in her ballads, though.
edit: Oops, Looks like Katy does write melody.

We felt that the song had something special, and when Katy dropped by in the studio, she loved the track. Together with Ester Dean, she wrote the lyrics and the melody line and the whole thing suddenly was magic!

Except Bonnie has clearly given Katy a lot of credit in interviews when it comes to "Teenage Dream," which is by far the most acclaimed thing either of them has ever written.
I do have my doubts that Katy wrote "I Kissed a Girl," too, seeing as there's been virtually no talk of Katy so much as meeting Cathy Dennis despite them sharing writing credits. I don't really care either way, but honestly I'd probably like Katy a bit more if I knew she didn't write that because that song's sexual politics are abhorrent.

Any interview I've ever heard about TD song, Bonnie acts like it was all her idea and all her words, it's ridic.

Spiritual will be one to watch then
I can't believe how excited I am for this, I am hard on Katy, very hard but at the end of the day she delivers fantastic pop music worth getting excited about, this album is going to slay.

She's stated plenty of times that she's a pop artist, pop artists deliver music that CATER to radio. You want Indie or mature? There are plenty of artists that you can listen to...there's Lorde, Adele, Norah Jones ect.)
Katy ain't stupid, she knows her niche, she wants to keep cementing herself in pop culture and there's nothing wrong with that. Artists in the late 90's/early 2000's did the same exact thing but we live in an era that fan bases and artists try to top themselves with their ~artistry nowadays which is cool because not everyone has to deliver radio friendly hits, you should become who you want to be and deliver the music that comes from your heart whether is radio friendly or not but is it Katy's fault that she knows how to write catchy hooks by herself or with other co-writers?
There are plenty of other artists, I dare say HUNDREDS that use the same formula yet they can even break the top 50 on the Hot 100... why? Katy's got her fan base and she's found her niche and no one is gonna take that away from her. I'm positive she can write a Lana Del Rey type of ballad and it can and will go #1 yet haters are gonna jump on her saying she caters to RADIO and RADIO only ...there's no winning for her from the haters and it's a FACT.

She's Martin's muse and she gets the best tracks he makes. Just deal with it, as soon as they leak you'll be the first one to bop to them anyway
Looking forward to It Takes Two.
