Wrong. The life span of TV shows is much longer, which means it has more room to explore its characters, put additional layers and depth to them. The budget of TV shows is nowadays also comparable to those of decent blockbuster movies, look at Game of Throne which got granted a 50 million dollar budget for its 10-episode debut season. Plus, the money also lies in the TV industry, as it can cash in money for up to a whole decade if the actors and producers are willing and the show is successful enough, while a movie can last only for so long as its being shown in theaters.
