It was number 18 on the end of year Pazz and Jop critics list from 1989. I hope you arent counting retrospect reviews, rather than their initial ones. Alot of critics tend to change their reviews in hinesight years later, given the impact of the album, something metacritic doesnt even track. 92 seems a little steep given that it wasnt even in the top ten of the most acclaimed albums for that year.

Yeah, but for the hindsight, there can be many many albums higher than a 92, and Like A Prayer received widespread reviews. If later on, it was reviewed, it would be at least in the high 80s.
