They, like us, have just been overestimating her star power.
It's not shocking. All the greats do it. Only Madonna has had longevity from realizing even in your 30th year in the industry, you need to be as hungry and promotion friendly as you were in your 1st year.

Ladies do you really think this is just her team? What team in their right minds would want their artist to not promote? They have to make money too. They want people to know about the product so they can benefit from it. This is Britney's decision, plain and simple.

Look y'all. The main reason Britney is underperforming now is because she IS well known with the gp. The same gp who witnessed her sit down and lip sync, sleep walk across the stage, look a mess halfway through X Factor with nothing important to say etc. It's gotten to the point where it's just not the stans who notice her lack of effort but it's EVERYBODY. The media hypes her as being a pop legend but she hasn't given the gp a reason to believe she is. On top of that, everyone knows she's had a 15+ year career but she doesn't perform like it. The gp doesn't expect much from Katy which is why she can release flawless music and sound a mess live. Only Britney can turn this around not her team or her stans, the gp is tired of rooting for her just like some stans are.

ATRL acted the same way when Scream & Shout started to fall and I'm pretty sure it went on to become her biggest radio hit. I know I had a meltdown but it was never over iTunes. People need to get over the fact that she isn't starting off as strongly as normal and consider the situation.
