Rihanna is consistent with her singles, just like Madonna was with her albums. And she's the most successful of her peers, so it's a proper comparison.
Mariah was extremely local. She was big in the US and Canada, but only had two global eras out of her entire career. Her record sales outside of the US and Canada are embarrassing - same goes for Beyonce.
Katy is sort of like Celine in a way - they both smash without relying on controversy. And out of the old trinity, she's the only one remotely similar to Katy.
