How to you know it was Brandy version tho? Rihanna herself said it was called Straight Up Beautiful and it was an empowering song and Brandy song isn't empowering.

Yes. Early reviews of Loud (before the final tracklist was involved) include Straight Up Beautiful, meaning some reviewers heard the song. They considered the song as ballad. Maybe it doesn't suit with Loud, hence it didn't make the final cut.
