I agree with you that most (young) people find it hard to name his songs. But he has a legendary status here and he has some classics that everybody recognizes and will be in the very long future.

A rock group from the 60s. They're practically synonymous with the hippie/ counterculture movement of the late 60s, and their lead guitarist (Jerry Garcia) was widely considered to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
