I have a feeling the ballad and midtempos as well as other uptempos will be urban influenced but I am sure they are more concerned about infusing EDM and urban instead of urban pop. Did that already in 2001.
Also, urban and r&b is not taking over the way many thought it would back in 2012.
People wanted electronic dance music to end and Adele did change that a bit but nothing else has lasted. We had the Justin/Robin/Bruno sounding songs that were a fad but now it's back to EDM
Might as well infuse more urban with EDM to set that trend.
I suspect they will with future singles.
