Applause is a flop? It's been in the top 10 (mostly top 5) of itunes for over a month and reached #4 on the BB100. It might not be a mega smash like Born This Way or Roar but it's far from a flop. It's bigger than any of Knee's singles from Fatte Female.
I am not shading Ariana, I am really sad for her tbh.
I don't think it was necessarily bad technique that led to that, the ATRLs experts are too much, it can be just straining, it happens. It happened to Adele as well.
She's abusing her range I think. She whistles a lot, and whistling is notorious for ****ing up vocal cords.
I don't know the severity of the situation, but I'm going to assume all she needs to do is rest her vocal cords and take some medicinal liquids, but definitely NOT try to release another album in Feb. That's entirely too stressful and could cause her to develop nodules on her vocal cords which need to be removed surgically.

Lol, Fiona Apple, I respect her as an artist but imo I've never heard an indie artist as boring as her and I've 3 of her albums, so I tried it really hard to love her.
She isn't jacking Fiona to a tee like the way Ariana is jacking Mariah. It's obvious Lana, Fiona, and of course the Goddess Kate Bush are her influences.
