Like in the middle of October a #1 sold like 45k
Ariana would be lucky to scrape 10k in the UK

Album sales are terrible at the moment. Point blank. And it wasn't much of a strong week at all. The only reason there's many debuts is because sales are LOW.
I was so happy YT debuted top 10, don't get me wrong, but the ridiculous sales helped it so much.

& yet...
no asterisk, no "but". point of tha matter is...she reached top 10 in her debut, weak sales or not.

And finally, sitting just outside of the Top 40 are Mutya Keisha Siobhan with Flatline. The original line-up of the Sugababes took the unusual step of releasing their comeback single on Friday (September 6) to coincide with their appearance on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man TV show. After just 48 hours on sale, Flatline makes its Official Singles Chart debut at Number 50, narrowly missing out on a Top 40 placing by just 1,000 copies.

decent with only 2 days of sales

It doesn't change the point that she did it with lacklustre sales among the lowest sales weeks of the year

If Demi released her album last week, she would've been Top 5 or Top 3

Not necessarily.
If Roar was released with Applause it wouldnt have sold anything LIKE 180k.

Ariana's album is the 7th best-selling album last week in the UK. Out of the millions of albums out there for people to buy, Ariana's was in the 10 best-selling last week. I don't get what's so difficult to understand about that. Good for her, it's an achievement in my opinion. I was surprised she got that high.

Obviously not, but Demi was during a busy week. It would be #3 opposed to #10 if it was released this week

Well I guess congratulations to Ariana for outselling Selena by 800 copies with only 4 singles.
