That's true, but I see her having Gotye success. 'Royals' will smash (although it won't be nearly as big as STIUTK) and she'll be forgotten.
If I measure an artist, I don't measure only the music, I read what they have to say and I look also at movings, expressions and now do look at just of the beginning of this clip, this is massive, she will have a lot to say in the future, mark my words
I would say "Shay Shay" isn't a real name, but a nickname.
is it? i know a certain few parents in my neighborhood who wouldn't think twice on giving their kid that name, usually accompanied by an "á" to make it special
What was his follow-up single? "Eyes Wide Open" wasn't even sent for pop radio adds after the success of "Somebody," so I'm not sure that they were "pushing really hard," and his album sold 900k just off the success of STIUTK. He could have done more if he pushed harder.
I think that was it. I don't really remember; I never liked Gotye but I remember reading articles around the time of his SNL performance about all of the steps his label had taken to ensure sustained album sales and to make sure he had more hits in the US from the album. To build him into a name and avoid one-hit wonder status.
