The point is that Princess Diana was just a controversial a figure then as Britney was and is now. And like Princess Diana, someday in the distant future when she passes, Britney will be remembered as a pop culture icon.

Britney will never be as adored as Princess Diana and that should not even be argued. But people obviously root for her, seeing as once she was back in tip-top shape making great pop tracks in 08, the public reacted well to her music, the singles, the album, and the tour.

But, then again, Princess Diana was being criticized left and right before she passed, so I don't really know how she would of been today and how the public would view her if she were alive.
