you obviously forgot the part where they were in the midst of fighting Puppetmon and Matt was being a little bitch to everyone cause TK was gone and wanted to go save him. then he was pressed that TK came back on his own and everyone was congratulating him. thats when Matt ran off and Cherrymon, Puppetmon's underling, tricked Matt into believing that Tai was his rival. thats when he came back with Metalgarurumon and tried to fight Agumon/Tai and they had a big fight until Kari got herself possessed and they told them the story of how they became the DigiDestined in the first place. then Matt apologized to Tai + everyone - he even admitted in his own words that he felt like Tai was trying to take TK away from him.
