now i only watched it since they were the same people who made Sinister, and Sinister is a decent horror movie..
But Insidious is not good really.. cheap horror shticks and what kind of underwhelming anti-climatic end! that cliffhanger ending..
it was like watching an age old low-budget horror flick! that demon ghost wasnt scary either..
I watched the conjuring yesterday (just released here). It was scarier than most of you implied. The initial raves about the movie were kind of deserved.

The Conjuring gave me chills... it's VERY rare a film does that

The Haunting in Connecticut is based in Georgia, I was so confused. It got pretty much trashed by critics and the trailer is a travesty so I will assume it sucks.
I finally saw You're Next tonight and oh. my. god. This is truly and honestly, no exaggeration here, one of my favorite films of all time. I loved it SO much. I went with my cousin and we were the only people in the theater, so that was an awesome way to experience it. I've never rooted so much for a character like that, ever. It was so intense and most of the twists I wasn't anticipating. I love how so many of the scenes didn't go the way a person would expect them to.
It's such a ****ing shame this movie isn't slaying. It may have surpassed its budget greatly (less than a million to make it) but it deserves exposure like The Purge. I don't mind it being one of my secret pleasures that many people don't know exist, but it's such a good movie, Adam Wingard deserves a huge payoff.
I enjoyed this movie so much more than the other horror movies this year. The two year wait was well worth it. I was nervous after seeing some negative reactions and seeing people say it was a comedy-horror like The Cabin in the Woods, but I don't see how it was humorous besides a few witty scenes. The ending was perfect.
I can see why some people are comparing it to The Cabin In The Woods as both films are cliched... but both are intentionally cliche... but no thats about the only comparision between the two films IMO
