Have you even seen the SB acts outside of the past two years?  Those are not the only type of acts that get booked on that Superbowl stage. What controversy did The Black Eyed Peas have? Right, none or nothing that people remember. They were picked because they were relevant at the moment and entertained the crowd.

My point isn't that relevancy automatically equals success, because that's obviously not the case. You don't need to be in the media to have successful songs and albums. What I'm trying to say is that Bruno Mars isn't relevant. His success is not related to how relevant he is in the world.
And no, not really. I vaguely remember Black Eye Peas' performance. And Black Eye Peas are somewhat known - they've been around for a while. Bruno hasn't. I'm not saying that Bruno can't put on a good show because he's not ~ultra~ relevant. I'm just saying most people probably won't know who he is by hearing his name
