I know Britney was much, much more popular and successful and is known more by people, but they share very similar career paths. That's why I made the comparison. Gaga is not over. She is still arguably the biggest pop star on this planet right now. Can we decide that she is a flop after how Artpop (the album) performs? One single doesn't mean anything, really.
Eminem really should. Not JT, he doesn't deserve it.
The only people, imo, keeping Gaga afloat are the gays and the pop music enthusiasts. Casual listeners just aren't here for her anymore. My sister, previous stan, deleted all her songs the day after Born This Way came out, and I know a lot of people have been feeling that way too.
I don't think it's the music so much as how she just killed herself in the first few years with all the outfits, antics, etc I mean, now nothing she does will surprise anyone or get any huge hype unless she like offs herself or something god forbid.
If Britney gets her lazy as$ and wobbly knees together she has perfect songs for the stadium ala Circus, TTWE, OIDIA, Slave, IWG....actually most of Britney's songs are perfect for bopping and chanting to in a stadium
Britney has the perfect songs for that kinda setting.
Circus, Slave, TTWE, Oops!, and BOMT would be the perfect set list.
Oh well! That ain't happenin' so no use talking about it.
What's so funny? He's selling out concerts, winning awards, has hit single after hit single, two multi-platinum selling albums, more global than JT and is able to still go #1 on iTunes. Plus, he's charting higher on Social 50 than your girl Gaga (who I see you dismissed for Lana, but HEY!). Why the **** not?
Gaga has done all those things but much bigger + she's a better performer. she should do it
I like Britney too, but there is a huge difference between the two.
Britney was the biggest star when she debuted, and even after the decline, everyday people talked about her, hated on her, or loved her etc.
Gaga was the biggest star when she debuted, but after Born This Way, the only people who still talk about her are pop music aficionados and gays. The rest of the population just couldn't care less.
And you can see that in their digital sales. Britney, 10+ years into her career was breaking first week records with HIAM. Gaga, 5+ years into her career, is struggling to sell 1/2 of what her last debut single did on only her 4th album.
apples and oranges.
People still talked about Britney because her life was a trainwreck. There's no reason for anyone other than pop music aficionados to talk about Gaga if all she's doing is putting out pop music, not driving around with a baby in her lap.
And Britney was struggling to get a hit during the middle of her career. The Circus era was a big comeback for her. How do you know Gaga won't be breaking records 10+ years into her career? People didn't think Britney could do it again during her KFed/Chaotic days.
Y'all really need to cut some slack on Britney's knees. Theoretically, she is still one of the best dancers in pop music today.
She has more diverse moves than Beyonce.
And she has more charisma than Lady Gaga.
But what they have over her is enthusiasm and attitude, and that is like 90% of a good performance.
Anyways, now that we've concluded Firework is more successful/iconic than Poker Face I thought the Super Bowl said they weren't do any more pop stars for a few years?
She has more diverse moves than Beyonce.
And she has more charisma than Lady Gaga.
But what they have over her is enthusiasm and attitude, and that is like 90% of a good performance.
Knee and charisma don't belong in the same sentence

It's everything. She did it to herself. Pop music fans aren't loyal. Look how many people jumped ship during the BTW era. She still has one of the biggest fanbases, but she needs to reinvent her image and music. That's how she is going to stay relevant. Look at Britney and Madonna.
An artist like Beyonce still remains relevant even though she takes the safe route because her music is more R&B oriented, and R&B fans are much more loyal.
