To be fair, no way was America going to use all those black artists as much or more than The Beatles in the 60s.

A lot of them couldn't even play in the most profitable/popular venues because of the segregation laws, so in a sense The Beatles were competing with themselves.

The Temptations were MASSIVE.

Bob Dylan was slaying (he's white)
Rolling Stones were slaying (they're white)
The Monkees SLAYED LIVES (they're white)

The Beatles had tons of competition. They just came out on top because they were the catchiest early on, then they solidified their legacy with the experimental middle years.

There are no cancer cures. Most cancers are so different from each other and develop/spread differently, etc. Ones that work on certain people don't usually work on others so there's no way they can just introduce these "cures" without knowing the long term effects of them and whether or not they actually work on most people.

That would be a terrible gamble and would kill more people in the long run than it would cure them.

Alot of diseases are close to "cures" though thanks to stem cells and other drugs. Alzheimer's, MS, Diabetes, etc.

An interesting observation really. Most "real" hipsters I know enjoy pop music, even if they do so condescendingly. Many pop fans I know just seem to denounce everything aside from a tiny subset of artists as hipster **** or overrated **** or just ****.
