No... Paul and Ringo lost a lot of their hype because at the end of The Beatles' career they started getting really generic and lame. Let It Be and Abbey Road had some of their worst songs of all time.

If they had kept up the amazing ideas from '62-'68 Paul would still slay. His hype only lasted so long before people realized he just became generic.

No it's a fact most young people who are seriously into making music and playing instruments (not talking about 15-year-old X-Factor candidates), love The Beatles' music.
