I don't think we lack taste because Britney and Gaga aren't big here (well Gaga is imo), I mean really talented artist are huge here.. Bruno Mars, John Mayer, P!nk, Emeli Sande, Beyonce. These and Rihanna are the biggest international acts here at the moment, I don't think that's a very bad taste...
But I hate the songs like 'Papaoutai' and 'Vandaag', they ruin the top 40 tbh
The Dutch LOVE novelty songs; they always smash. That's why Gaga should've released Americano here for a quick hit
I wouldn't say that by any means. 5 million for a debut album is pretty impressive.
