Well, it's not as good as The ArchAndroid (do you think the second half drags a bit too?) but I'm finding more and more joy in these songs than I've gotten from almost anyone else this year anyway. Janelle's voice, personality and ambition make up for some of the shortcomings in the lyrical department, and there are some (SOME) pretty clear stabs at being more public-friendly, but overall I think it's a worthy effort from the lady.
What did you find disappointing about it?
See, I think there isn't enough personality! The second half does drag, and I just expected more from her.
It'll still probably be in my Top 10-15 albums of the year, but it was a letdown.
hehe his album sold LESS first week than Wale (which is shocking since he had two hit singles and kanye his backing. mess, all these rappers are so lackluster.
& they thought his sophomore would be his breakthru into stardom.
No pop artist in the last 20 years had the fame and the potential Brittany had until 2007. The proof is that, even years after becoming a puppet, I am still sure that if she puts effort, like REAL effort, to dance and perform and act like she can actually have emotions again and come up with a great single, she will slay and outsell everyone.
You guys know, even if it's very deep inside, that's the truth, right? Britney's fanbase from before is still there, just waiting for her to throw a bone at them, if she comes back, like a real comeback, damn it. I am scared for the other popstars.
But she probably will never come back
She was also serving ITZ Everytime-esque face in the video. Last time she looked beautiful.
She was cute, yes. But it's amazing how she didn't even wash her hair. I bet the vid was filmed in couple of hours and I remember her (management) hyping it so hard. Radar doesn't look cheap at least. 3 had so much more potential.

I think there's a difference between ''weirdness'' and ''personality'' though - there's nothing as crazy as ''Neon Gumbo'' or ''Come Alive'', and as good as they are, is there any need?
It's less eccentric, but y'know, Prince couldn't make ''...Dorothy Parker'' over and over again, why should Janelle?

This is all so true. But I've lost all hopes during FF.

thank god for that
I feel sorry for her base though, they've been grieving for her for too long
I mean, people like me, who grew up with the best Britney pre-blackout phase, would stan like there's no tomorrow if one day she came back from the hole she burried herself into.

I guess I just sort of expect it. I always thought all of Janelle's albums would have a bit of weird/quirk to them.
