Applause was positively received by the GP, though. Everyone's just riding off of the kiis because it's the first time a Gaga lead single hasn't busted the charts. And the negative press is just the Gaga/Katy feud that's being instigated.
Think of it this way: if everyone truly hated Gaga, Applause wouldn't be in the top five on iTunes.

I so agree with this. Even if it was flopping, it was dumb of Interscope to publically announce that they were pulling Marry The Night off of the radio.
