Believe me ! Applause will stay in the top 10 for 10 more weeks and sell 2M in the US when its done ! Applause is going to be a moderate hit for Gaga ! She just needs to hit it hard with the second single ! Applause is doing fine !
I find it very interesting that everyone within the top 5 is getting huge radio support, except for Gaga. She manages to hold however..that is promising and impressive.
as previously stated, this is performing much like "we can't stop"...radio is reticent to play because that demographic (mid 20s +) is not responding overwhelmingly favorably, but the buying demographic (teens) is all about it...if applause is able to hang on in itunes, then radio will probably eventually pick it up a little more--it's my understanding that thats what happened with we can't stop, yes?
I think it's safe to say Applause will stay at #5 on iTunes for at least 1-2 more weeks (assuming she won't have a performance before that). None of the tracks below it are gaining enough to catch up.

theres a base of haters asking radio to stop playing applause, and they know Aura could be a controversial song
This would be delusional to me but considering how disturbingly obsessed her haters are (pawsdownlittlemonsters, gaga cheat, vin) and how often people believe their ******** I wouldn't doubt them gathering people to request the song not be played lol
but I think DJ's are just hesitant to spin her in general.
