Willy, calm ya tts. It's obvious she got gassed. 2012 was a valuable lesson learned for her...stop whining as if that's gonna change anything.

Super Bass is the actual song that had a chance at #1. It was the most streamed song of 2011.
|
It would've gone top 3 or even #2; however, the later released helped its Longevity in the top 1
. I already spilled the tea on the chart methodology and how that kept her song top 10.

She got gassed; however, i have to agree with you.
Her mixtapes were to prove that she can rhyme.
Her pf album was to prove that a female rapper could sell blending and infusing hardcore rap, hip Pop, r&b and mainstream.
Her pfrr album was to prove that you could merge hip hop and dance pop into a concept album.
Originally, rr was.to be 75% hip hop.with most.of it telling Romans story and a handful of pop but Dr.Luke and co. Persuaded her to go more pop and seeing the success she had she later decided to go half Roman and half pop. After the success of rim, they decided to go with sh for urban and vvv for all formats. After the backlash of sh, they cut.out Roman tracks and went back to do more urban tracks...songs like champion, come on a cone, beez, Hov lane and iayl were done in late winter/early spring of 2012.
With the original concept altered and the new hybrid concept in place she expected 8 singles pop (ss, pta, vvv and mm) and urban (rbms, iayl, champ, and gs) 5m ww sales of the album.
Didn't work. She played her cards wrong releasing sh (although the video is genius...see village voice take on video) it came off as a bully bragging about beating up the weak. Should have left it at tragedy and.subliminals.
It also made her look pressed too.
So, the hate was thick. It was her time to face backlash and she gave the haters and the fairweathers a present wrapped in a bow with pfrr.
The hybrid concept didn't work but she had enough balls to do it.
The Roman concept she.originally had probably would have fared better but oh well.

Roman was the guy who would break barriers and be crazy and I think when she saw RIM flop from her perspective she decided to make pop songs so she could stay on the charts it's just a theory. I believe RH and RR were all written before SS and PTA and Masqurade and the only pop songs that were written was probably VVV , BS, MM, and YF. This is just a hunch.

|
Jessica Vernecka, rim didn't flop. Rr was not written before ss. Ss was done in 2011.
It was her hip hop.tracks that werent romanesque (iayl, champion, Hl etc.) Were done in 2012. She even tweeted it.

And she was already going to do pop. SB's and TMO's success got to her.

Exactly. It's the truth. Which is why i am glad.it happened now.
Think how big nickis head would be if she did get 5m ww and was able to.get 4 urban and 4 pop hits.

That's the silver lining, I see things from an experienced mindset. You all will see it come 3/4th era how significant it was that pfrr era existed. I think she knew of the backlash. Bit its kind of like knowing but you don't feel it until it happens and she wasn't the most gracious bit I suspect 2012 will be her most ungracious year. She's leapt and learned.
Ss was pivotal because it was about her not being a feature queen. Pfrr era made her stand on her own and ss was global and allowed her to headline a tour ww. Pfrr and ss lead to her getting a fragrance deal. She scored endorsement deals and it lead to idol. Idol lead to her movie role.
She branded herself and is now doing beverage lines and a clothing line...neither had to do with pfrr so I didn't list them earlier for a reason.
That said, she won awards from almost every award show (bmas, vmas, amas, tcas, emas, bet, and now bmi). She toured making at least 15m. She got 12m to kick her feet up and amassed a 7m seller and a few more platinum and gold singles.
It's the best way to lose and win at the same time.

Target would be a smart choice as well. But Walmart is a no. I Not to offend anybody but if the line was at Walmart people would DECIMATE her! Kmart at least has other celeb brands. I dont know why she didnt choose Target, but thank god she didn't choose Kmart.
|
Lol at ppl thinking SHE chose them. I'm sure she would have gone with target it it were her choice. While she became global she still had backlash so it wasn't.like h&m, Macy's or something more high end was gonna pick her up.
You all should do more of taking the information assessing it and reading between the lines of some of it. Nicki being smart new she had limited options and turned it around as her selling point to cater to her barbs that couldnt afford high end.
Once it does well in Kmart...it will expand to the higher end retailers. She has to prove herself there first.

Lol...yall don't get it. But yes it will do extremely well I just wished she had it done in august since.kids by their new clothes then but i guess in fashion seasons start differently. Idk.

I think she should've went with Target because more people will see it. And more people live near a Target than a K-Mart regardless of how many celebs clothing lines are there.
|
Lol. Yeah decimated seems a bit.much but I get what they were saying.
If target, her biggest retailer for her albums according to her wanted to get her line they wouldve offered it to her...are you guys getting it now.
They were not going to bank on her right away because.of polarity which has it pros and cons.
It was either Kmart or some type of walmart nonsense. She WILL prove herself and higher end stores will pick it up.

I hate to say it because you're young and naive but they kind of played you...not in a bad way...more like dangling a carrot in front of you. I admire your convictions about ss though.

But I know acclaim. And neither are.

Maxx betta scalp. Poor gaga. I had a feeling this era was.going to determine if she had lasting impact of madonna or was a niche artist like Cyndi lauper. At least nicki doesn't have that problem.
Am I the only one that loves how ppl trashed nicki for her gaga ripoff style yet nicki was smart enough not to go too far and was able to brand her fashion (after reeling it in and making it marketable) into another business.

Yes. Because though Walmart is seen as the best place for everything (electronics, school supplies, etc.) It is NOT known for buying clothes. Plus KMart already has celebrities with their lines so it gives Nicki's line more credibility.

True. Im glad Kmart was open to.giving her a shot.

Jessica vasoline, its a cute pop.song. let's not get carried away with hyping the quality of a song with twinkle twinkle.little star in it. Bmis gave it more credibility so I get the reenergized love for it bit please with this original stuff.
Ok, im just gonna say it...nicki was smart enough to put her song out before rihanna house music breakdown styled where have you been came out. Ss wasn't innovative. It was a hit at the end of the dance craze and had house music elements in its breakdown that she was smart to release before others could release it.later that season.let's not compare our little sisters crayon drawings to picasso.
