It came out less than three weeks ago. US radio stations don't put songs in power rotation that quickly, most of them are very careful. You see it time and time again that songs with a strong start then have to settle for lesser updates for a week or two before accelerating again.
Sure maybe it won't hit #1, but the song is far from over.
It's Roar that is twisting everyone's perceptions of what's normal because it's such a huge digital and airplay smash right out of the gate.

Kworb the worrying thing is not her spins. Its the fact that smaller radio stations spin it more than the bigger ones and that hurts her audience impressions. For example this week z100 spins it 4-6 times per day while the previous week it was 7-9. Also some major radio stations like kiss fm in dallas spins it once per 2 days (lol) and also at around 3 or 4 am when everybody is asleep.

Spins are more important than audience. They show the song's momentum. Which for now is still positive, her bullet is fine. It doesn't matter if the bigger stations decrease the rotation, they can always increase it again.

As you can see, about 3 weeks into it's run, "Suit & Tie" started getting a negative update, then a very positive update, negative, then postive, and so on for a while. Hopefully, this is something that happens to "Applause", and it'll get a really good update tomorrow, but it's important to note that "Suit & Tie" was a crossover hit, while Gaga only really has Pop and sorta has Hot AC.
But didn't Suit & Tie start to get positive updates after the Grammys' performance?
