Gaga has devoted fans that will buy her album though. No shade to the Navy as a whole but judging by Rihanna's opening week single and album numbers, her fans don't do the "frontloaded purchasing" that Gaga's fans do.
Gaga has enough fans as of Right Now to support her album sales. However, after that first week, it's up to the GP to buy her album, which in the case of the US, didn't happen (85% sale drop iirc)
Quite good for a yearly release, since some take breakes for two years, release 8 videos and still fail to reach 3M, right?
