LOL @ you thinking WCS is going to win anything at the Grammys. Not with these other songs contending. Plus, the Grammys usually try to be classy.

'Red' needs to be nominated and should win, JT & Bruno are just so bland
If BL or TS get nominated for ROTY/SOTY over Roar then

|
Interesting. Jessie Ware would be a nice surprise, but I doubt it. Ariana's chances are slim, but I still think she has a chance. A shot in the dark, but hey, crazier things have happened with nominations.

Bruno won Male Vocal in 2011 for "Just the Way You Are" and was nominated in all three major categories in 2012. I was thinking he could be a threat to JT, but I feel that his momentum has slowed down while JT's has remained steady.
|
Nice to know Bruno has atleast one. I don't see any threat towards JT for AOTY. I think it's all but a lock, at this point.

After thinking about it, these are my predictions with about a month until eligibility is over.
Record of the Year
Daft Punk, "Get Lucky"
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, "Thrift Shop"
Bruno Mars, "Locked Out of Heaven" / "When I Was Your Man"
Taylor Swift, "I Knew You Were Trouble"
Robin Thicke, "Blurred Lines"
Justin Timberlake, "Mirrors" / "Suit & Tie"
(I'll go with six, since this has been a pretty busy year.)
Album of the Year
Daft Punk, Random Access Memories
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Heist
Bruno Mars, Unorthodox Jukebox
Taylor Swift, Red
Justin Timberlake, The 20/20 Experience
Song of the Year
Daft Punk, "Get Lucky"
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, "Thrift Shop" / "Same Love"
Bruno Mars, "Locked Out of Heaven" / "When I Was Your Man"
Taylor Swift, "I Knew You Were Trouble"
Robin Thicke, "Blurred Lines"
Best New Artist
Florida Georgia Line
Imagine Dragons
Kendrick Lamar
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Emeli Sandé
Imagine Dragons and P!nk will probably have to settle for nods in the rock and pop categories, respectively. I feel like Gaga and Katy will be nominated somewhere so the NARAS can have them both perform, but the general field is just too busy.

Justin is probably getting album. That's why the music biz is in trouble. They are throwing everything they can to keep the guy on their corner, but he'd choose movies without blinking.
He won the VMAs, he'll win the AMAs and the Grammys. Hopefully the next album is better with so much encouragement.

What do you guys think about my pop guesses?
Best Pop Solo Performance
Lady Gaga, "Applause"
Bruno Mars, "Locked Out of Heaven" / "When I Was Your Man"
Katy Perry, "Roar"
P!nk, "Try"
Taylor Swift, "I Knew You Were Trouble"
Justin Timberlake, "Mirrors"
I went with six again because I feel like "Try" will slip in. P!nk has had a great year, and there aren't many categories she can get nominated in.
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
Capital Cities, "Safe and Sound"
Daft Punk/Pharrell, "Get Lucky"
P!nk/Nate Ruess, "Just Give Me a Reason"
Rihanna/Mikky Ekko, "Stay"
Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran, "Everything Has Changed"
Best Pop Vocal Album
Bruno Mars, Unorthodox Jukebox
John Mayer, Paradise Valley
Rihanna, Unapologetic
One Direction, Take Me Home
Justin Timberlake, The 20/20 Experience
I know 1D were snubbed last year, but there's really not that much competition. I would also consider Lana Del Rey's Paradise because of the attention she's gotten with "Summertime Sadness".

I agree with a lot of these predictions. Great job! I'm not so sure about ROTY and SOTY overlapping so much, especially in such a crowded field.
I think Justin Timberlake is safe in both, maybe Taylor Swift but her full on pop attack has rubbed some the wrong way, so she repeats in ROTY, misses SOTY. Blurred Lines and Get Lucky strike me as the typical Record nominees, with Macklemore sending different songs and getting both nominated.
Being a songwriters award, Bruno shows up in SOTY with Locked Out of Heaven, Katy Perry may prove irresistible, even if arriving late. Imagine Dragons completes the line up.
ROTY
Justin Timberlake - Mirrors
Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop
Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines
Daft Punk - Get Lucky
SOTY
Bruno Mars - Locked Out of Heaven
Justin Timberlake - Mirrors
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Same Love
Katy Perry - Roar
Imagine Dragons - Radioactive
Jay Z, Pink, Rihanna and that horrible Cruise song are next in line. We really need a country song here but I can't predict Cruise and there wasn't other crossover stories. T Swift better represent her genre with the backing of Max Martin of all people.

I agree with this list. I also think that "Cups" may have a chance at it, too.

They're combined now. There are no more genre-specific categories as of the 2012 ceremony.

I'm hoping for a nomination for Catch My Breath, but I can already see Macklemore sweeping all the major categories. Kelly doesn't have a chance against him and Daft Punk I fear. But at least they are talented and deserving artists.

"Cups" is cute, but it seems like too much of a novelty.
I was really unsure about omitting Adele, but (a) there are bigger hits for her to contend with, (b) they don't need to worry about getting her to perform, and (c) she's already a lock to win Best Song for Visual Media, so that should satisfy their Adele quota for the year.
