songs and albums are submitted to categories and then a group of "experts" selects those submitted for nominations, and then "experts" with "expertise" in certain genres/categories will decide upon the winners.
i don't see freedom being submitted for a grammy and i also do not see it getting a nomination even if it were to be nominated.
and although there's no proof for this, it seems that the grammy's only nominate things if they are either very acclaimed or very successful. that's why pop albumsthat sit in the 70s and don't produce earth-shattering eras - even if submitted - tend not to receive noms.
