No hate, but do monsters really think ARTPOP is gonna open the same way as BTW when
1- The lead single for BTW was huuuge and the egg thingy at the grammies was a huge controversy. She used to get press non stop at the time, and the lead single was a massively frontloaded smash (possibly the biggest frontloaded single I've ever seen).
1- 450.000 copies of those1m copies were suspicious.
Gaga will do really good first week numbers, but if you're expecting BTW type of openings you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.
Lady Gaga is soo over tbh. Applause is a try-hard mess and I'd call it a disgrace for the term "lead single", as this wouldn't probably even been a Target bonus track for Medoner's last flop album. People are still curious about Gags, that's undeniable, but there is a continous downward trend going on in her career that's too rapid to be just blamed on the general decline of music sales that every popstar suffers over the years. We've seen it often enough: Cindi Lauper, Toni Braxton and Lady Gaga could potentially follow in their footsteps and fade into oblivion after a short string of successful albums.
