Actually no. The solo version of MLJ didn't do as well. Then they released the one with Xtina and it started to pick up and became the massive smash it was.

Whether you like it or not, The bridge helped the song perform and gave the song what it was missing, especially with the Ad-libs in the final chorus.

But the song is still the pits.
