I think the Week 22 drop might be a little steeper, but death at it selling 6 million at about the same amount of time the previous record-holder sold 5 million.

Yeah, somebody mentioned it a few pages back, I think. Apparently an error like that has happened before and they just fix the chart afterwards (which would make K. Michelle chart at #100 if they fix it )

To be fair, if the song sounded like California Gurls it probably wouldn't have done this well.

Some people on here dismiss Dr. Luke way too easily imo. There's other producers I can think of with a much less varied discography than him. Dr. Luke has quite a variety of styles.

But still albums would probably sell more had Digital Singles never been invented. 'Cause I heard Physical Singles were like $2.50 - $4.00 so instead of just buying singles and wasting all that money people would just buy albums instead. Which is why Physical Singles couldn't even go Platinum at one point.

The GP doesn't automatically get attracted to albums like us Pop Music stans, now they'll just spend $1.29 on a single. I'm a teenager and I didn't really even know much about albums until maybe 2 years ago? I knew albums existed because my parents had them + at stores, but I didn't know anything about Pop Girls like Rihanna having albums or anything.

And if singles can sell 5+ million, I don't see how piracy is ruining stuff.
