However they had different images. Beyonce had female empowerment thing and Rihanna was a cute teenage island girl.

Rihanna is the only pop girl who didn't do any sort of gigs outside that Hero 'performance', showing work ethic and have a talent. Britney, Beyonce, Katy, Gaga, Christina, Taylor, Shakira, the list goes on, have numerous times, and some even had the privilege of working in the industry as child stars. Sure some may have lost their main talent and got lazy, nonetheless they had it when getting signed and gave their blood, sweat and tears. Rihanna did NOTHING.
