Gaga's career trajectory is no different than Brinty, Xtine and Avril. Started out huge and progressively fades into oblivion. I imagine Gaga will keep singing until Madonna reaches her 2x Diamond birthday anniversary although no one will be buying her **** a la Bjork.

"In The Zone" was more commercially successful than "Britney" though. She had the biggest female hit of 2004. The only reason why it only sold 9m was because it only had 3 singles (each #1 worldwide mind you) and the era ended really short. With "in The Zone", she was also finally getting much more acclaimed with critics. Stay ignorant, though.
Plus, I'd rather take Britney's and Gaga's career any day than Rihanna's. They were on top the world and were unstoppable at a point in their careers, unlike Rihanna.
With acts like The Saturdays, Flo Rida, Pitbull etc, i don't really understand why they create albums. They will obviously tank and it would be more cost effective for labels to just promote a 6 song EP or sum'n.
