Yes, I know that "Never Say Never" got blocked by "Just Go With It," but that's like saying "Bangkok Dangerous" was more successful than "The Day After Tomorrow" just because it hit #1 while TDAT did not. "Bangkok" opened with $8 million, while TDAT opened with $68 million but got beaten by "Shrek 2" and its $72 million second week.
Anyway, do you think "This Is Us" could have a better box office opening weekend than "Never Say Never?" For reference, "Never Say Never" had a $29 million opening. I could see it doing up to $40 million.

I think it's very likely assuming best case scenarios on its opening weekend. Given that 1D is really hot at the moment, possible.
